Martin Misunderstood is somewhere between a short story and a novella, it’s a quick, easy read that is rife with dark comedy. Although the story is set in America, it had a somewhat British feel - probably due to the amount of explicit language used. Which makes now the perfect time to point out that this book is definitely not for the young Dailyreaders out there! With strong language, graphic scenes and gruesome descriptions (sometimes bordering on repulsive), this book is definitely for the older Dailyreaders.

Martin Misunderstood is a quick read and a great introduction to the tone and style of Karin Slaughter. This book will be popular with crime fiction fans with a tendency towards the more gruesome and believe it or not, Slaughter is her birth name - she was clearly born to write great crime fiction.
